Gift Registry Terms and Logistics

Gift Registry Terms and Logistics

You will need to register for an online account with us before you can create your Gift Registry. To create an account, you will need to provide us with your name, your partner’s name (optional), your address, your email address and the date of your event.

You agree to keep your username and password relating to your Account confidential at all times. You are responsible for all activities relating to your Account.

In registering for an Account, you have accepted our terms and conditions.

OVERVIEW OF HOW OUR SERVICE WORKS

  • After registering an account with us, you compile a list of different gifts that you would like, from items available on our website.

  • Your guests buy these gifts for you.

  • For in stock items we will put these aside for you until you confirm delivery details. For out of stock orders and for bespoke items we will only place the order once you have confirmed via email that you wish to take these items.

  • Please note that Bespoke items cannot be cancelled or returned after this confirmation.

  • Once you have confirmed that you wish to take all the items purchased for you, we will start the process of getting these to you.

  • As many of our products have long lead-times, we will be ready to deliver these gifts to you within 8-12 weeks. In-stock items can be delivered earlier, but additional shipping charges will be applicable, unless collected from store.

  • Our service is free of charge (except for shipping charges)

  • You can manage your gift list in-store or online

CONFIRMING YOUR ORDER

When you are ready, normally after your wedding, you will confirm you are happy to receive the gifts purchased for you. Or confirm to us any exchanges you may want to make.

If you make exchanges and the items you wish to take are of a greater value than those bought, the difference will need to be paid.

If the items you confirm you wish to take are of a smaller value than those purchased, a credit will be applied to your Summerill & Bishop Account, and can be used against any purchase in store or over the phone, within the next 12 months.

If exchanges are made, these will need to be at the current price of the new item taken, if price changes have occurred during the duration of the list, as these items were not put aside for you.

STOCK AVAILABILITY

All gifts shown on our website and added to your gift list are subject to availability .

In the event of a gift on your list becoming unavailable, we will endeavor to find a suitable replacement, but in the event that we cannot, your account will be credited with the equivalent amount and you will be able to choose another gift from our website or store.

Delivery dates for replacement items may differ for gifts on your original list.

PRICE OF GIFTS

The prices of the gifts will be as quoted on our website and may change from time to time.

Your Guests will be charged the gift price on the date the gift is purchased.

GUEST CANCELLATION RIGHTS

Please be aware that, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, each Guest has the right to cancel their purchase of a gift made online or by phone, if they notify us no later than 14 working days after purchase.

If a Guest exercises their right to cancel after their gift has been dispatched, you must return the gift to us unused and in its original packaging.

It is the Guest's sole responsibility to arrange and bear the cost of the return of the gift and we accept no responsibility for organising this with yourself or the Guest.

DELIVERY OF YOUR GIFTS

We recommend collection in store of your items, due to the fragile nature. But we understand that this will not be possible for many people.

If you require delivery, we will provide you with a cost for the shipment after you have confirmed the items you wish to take, and these have been packaged ready for dispatch.

This shipping cost needs to be paid before items can be dispatched. Someone must be available to accept delivery of your gifts.

If you fail to take delivery of the gifts, or if you fail to give us adequate delivery instructions, then without limiting any other right or remedy which may be available to us, we may store the gifts until actual delivery and charge you for the reasonable costs (including insurance) of storage. Any subsequent delivery attempts will incur additional charges,

If you live outside the EU then import duties will be payable in your own country on delivery, which you will be responsible for.

The gifts will be your responsibility from the completion of delivery.

STORAGE

We offer up to 8 weeks’ free storage for your gifts from the point that we inform you your last gift is available.

After this time, a storage fee will apply. For more information, please contact us.

DAMAGED OR FAULTY ITEMS

If you receive any items that are damaged or faulty within your gift delivery, please ensure that you contact us within 7 days of receipt, and we will be delighted to arrange a replacement for you.

Please try and keep the packaging for damaged goods, and supply us with photos of the packing and damaged item.

Please note replacements can be subject to the same lead times if not an in-stock item, and we cannot always guarantee availability. In the case of a replacement not being available we will credit your S&B account with the full amount of the faulty item.

CHANGE OF MIND/UNWANTED GIFTS

We do not accept return requests for any unwanted gifts once you have taken receipt of your delivery, other than items that are delivered damaged, faulty or differ from their advertised description. Any items, other than bespoke orders, can be exchanged up until the point you confirm delivery of your order.

YOUR 10% LIFETIME FRIENDS AND FAMILY DISCOUNT

As you are now part of the S&B family, we are delighted to give you a lifetime discount of 10%, once you have fully spent your wedding list balance. Some product lines are excluded from this offer.
