Let's Bake Love 2026

Last week, a few of the S&B team were lucky enough to volunteer again, at Age UK Kensington and Chelsea's "Valentine's Gala Concert"- an afternoon tea, dedicated to creating community and reducing isolation and loneliness amongst older members of the neighbourhood. This year the event was moved to a new venue, in order to fit more people in, which is confirmation of the wonderful work that Age UK do. In it's first year, there were less than 40 guests in attendance, in 2026, there were over 450...

In fact, the event has become so important to the community, that this year there was even a 150-person wait list. This means that next year, we'll be back bigger and better than ever.

The volunteering was part of our 'Let's Bake Love' campaign, launched in partnership with the wonderful team at EARNT. Together, we asked forty of you to bake a veritable array of teatime treats, so that over 450 older people in our local community could enjoy an afternoon of love, laughter, luscious puds and some dancing too! Guests were treated to performances by operatic star Carly Paoli, Strictly Come Dancing's Vito Coppola, Opera Holland Park, The Rhythm Studio and our very own Skye Bishop.

We asked for help and you certainly delivered. The pouring rain didn't matter, you still came and delighted us with every lift of a lid that revealed freshly baked goodness within. As a thank you, you took home a set of our Rose Trellis napkins, which we hope will act as a reminder of how much love, a small act of kindness can bring. Having seen just how many cakes were delivered that day and the effort that you all went to, we can safely say that you more than "earnt" them.

As you can imagine, the event itself was a happy one. There really is nothing like doing something good for someone else. We wanted to share with you, in case you hadn't already seen, how much love your cakes and bakes brought to the event. It's safe to say that bellies left full and hearts left even fuller. Without our wonderful S&B bakers, this wouldn't have been possible, so thank you to you all. You helped play a part in the most magical day, celebrating love and togetherness in our community.
