Size

A 160cm x 300cm tablecloth will fit between six and eight people around the table. A 160cm x 380cm tablecloth will fit between ten and twelve people around the table.

Care Instructions

Wash at up to 60 degrees on a regular cycle (avoid “eco” or longer cycles).
Never soak for longer than 10 minutes and avoid using Vanish and other whitening products.
Tumble dry at 70 degrees for a soft effect, and 90 degrees for a more crushed finish.
We don't recommend ironing the full cloth in order to keep the linen’s lovely crumpled texture intact, but we do like to iron the edges to give it a sharper edge.

About Us

Founded by June Summerill and Bernadette Bishop, two great friends with a truly effortless and unique sense of style, Summerill & Bishop first opened its doors on 18th May, 1994 in Holland Park, and has remained on the same quiet, leafy corner of Clarendon Cross ever since.

Fantastic home cooks and entertainers both, June and Bernadette were frustrated with the offerings at most kitchen and tableware shops at the time, and with the lack of personality and intimacy, so they decided to create one of their own, where beauty and functionality would both be key.

To commemorate Bernadette's passing, S&B trademarked her signature flower design and designed a beautiful line of linens which launched in Sept 2015. And that is how S&B decided to focus on table linen - the fabric of life.

At Summerill & Bishop we believe that if people take the time to lay the table and present a meal beautifully, they'll enjoy it all the more and create a lasting memory for those who share it with them.

For us, laying the table is an art form that we can all master at home and is one of the simplest ways to tell someone what they mean to you. The table isn't just a place to pass food, you pass tradition, memory, and love, too. Read our full story here...

The story

This limited edition collection of tablecloths and napkins created in collaboration with artist and designer Luke Edward Hall draws on the Greco-Roman aesthetics of ancient sculpture. Hand painted on luxurious 100% Italian linen the Antinous I & Antinous II tablecloths feature fluid brushstrokes reminiscent of emperors, heroes and lost lovers from ancient times. They are a tribute to one of the first expressions of beauty found in the human form. The embroidered napkins are characterized with Luke’s signature Ionic columns and were designed to perfectly compliment these statement tablecloths.
