Description

Tucson captures the strange splendour of the Far West: a city planted in the Arizona desert, surrounded by towering cactuses and held beneath a sky so vast it seems to silence everything beneath it.

In the heat of the day, the streets grow still, colours intensify, and even the air feels weighted with dust, sun and memory. Beneath a mesquite tree, with mezcal on the lips and shade falling in broken patterns on the ground, the scent of the landscape rises in waves — dry grasses, warm wood, immortelle and red earth, all steeped in the golden severity of the desert. The incense deepens this atmosphere with remarkable nuance: rosemary and thyme crackle with herbal clarity; rose lends a soft, unexpected bloom; cedar, birch and lignum vitae release a beautiful smoky warmth; while vetiver, patchouli and labdanum hum with the richness of earth and resin. Black pepper adds a final, subtle heat.

It is a fragrance of sun-struck stillness and desert grandeur, at once rugged and exquisitely composed.

Scent Notes: Rosemary, Immortelle, Rose, Atlas Cedar, Lignum Vitae, Vetiver, Birch, Labdanum, Oregano, Thyme, Laurel, Black Pepper and Patchouli.

Perfume designed with Alexandra Monet.

Each stick burns for 30 mins, though the scent lasts for hours after.

About Us

Founded by the late June Summerill and Bernadette Bishop, two great friends with a truly effortless and unique sense of style, Summerill & Bishop first opened its doors on 18th May, 1994 in Holland Park, and has remained on the same quiet, leafy corner of Clarendon Cross ever since.

Fantastic home cooks and entertainers both, June and Bernadette were frustrated with the offerings at most kitchen and tableware shops at the time, and with the lack of personality and intimacy, so they decided to create one of their own, where beauty and functionality would both be key.

At Summerill & Bishop we believe that if people take the time to lay the table and present a meal beautifully, they'll enjoy it all the more and create a lasting memory for those who share it with them.

For us, laying the table is an art form that we can all master at home and is one of the simplest ways to tell someone what they mean to you. The table isn't just a place to pass food, you pass tradition, memory, and love, too. Read our full story here...
