Reinterpreting Cire Trudon’s fundamental values - ancient savoir-faire and an unwavering commitment to excellence - the scented candle reveals a unique perfume: behind the amber-coloured glass, a beeswax absolute.

Bees and beeswax have always been at the heart of the manufacturing history: since the 17th century, Trudon’s motto has been “Deo regique laborant”, which means: “they (the bees) work for God and the King”.

In a handblown amber coloured glass container, the front is embossed with a gold crest, the ultimate edition to your mantle, bedside or coffee table.

Manufactured at the Trudon workshop in Normandy, France, using unrivalled expertise handed down the generations.

Completely paraffin-free and made using only the finest natural oils and vegetable waxes, each 270g candle burns cleanly and evenly for 55-60 hours.

Burn time: 55-60 hours.
At no time should any burning candle be left unattended and do not burn one for more than 3 consecutive hours.
Keep lit candles out of reach of children, pets and curtains.
Keep the wick trimmed to 5 – 6mm long at all times, this length should be maintained throughout the burning process.
Ensure that the wick maintains its central position by gently readjusting to correct position when the wax is still molten. Allow candle to solidify before relighting.
Extinguish any candle that smokes excessively.
Do not burn a candle on a flammable or fragile surface, and never burn a candle all the way through to the bottom.
Once only 1 cm of wax remains, blow out the candle and let it fully cool before safely discarding it.

The Story

Cire Trudon is the oldest candlemaker in the world. Founded by the Trudon family, it has provided candles to France’s cathedrals and nobility since 1643. Most famously, the Trudons supplied all the candles of Versailles on a daily basis, serving the Sun King, Louis XIV, during his reign. Lighting up the hallways and boudoirs of the monarchy, Cire Trudon’s flames flickered in both Versailles and the Imperial Court during Napoleon’s reign. Thanks to the Sun King, this candle company managed to survive not only the French Revolution, but also the miracle of electricity and is still around today. The Paris-based brand maintains a serious cult following of A-listers and designers and is the epitome of luxury when it comes to candles, fragrance and giftware.
