Setsuko Cat Teapot by Astier de Villatte, 26cm
From Astier de Villatte’s collaboration with artist Setsuko Klossowski de Rola, Balthus’ widow, comes this quirky and slightly surreal ceramic cat that pours tea through its paw.
To understand a little bit more just why we love everything that Astier de Villatte creates, please read our story below.
Due to the exquisite nature of this product, we recommend to hand wash only.
We are longtime collectors of Astier de Villatte’s 18th and 19th century-inspired designs that are imbued with an elegant nostalgia and often, an offbeat sense of humour. Handmade in Paris by Tibetan artisans, these pieces are crafted from black terracotta using a special technique which leaves deliberate imperfections on the surface and are transformed by a milky white glaze. Delicate though they might be, these pieces are extremely durable and make wonderful decorative tableware.
