Description

Our most sombre & alluring desing reimagined on a round canvas.

Upon a ground of chiaroscuro, an abundance of flowers in chalky, hushed tones bloom triumphantly; tulips bow with a quiet, knowing grace and poppies peer out from behind a clutch of romantic roses. Each stem and leaf is a gentle reminder that all things flourish and fade, yet in art, they remain luminous forever.

With reverence to the golden age of the Dutch Masters, the palette of this design is deep and deliberate to bring a little drama to the table.

The collection comprises a round tablecloth, rectangular tablecloth available in three sizes, a matching napkin on 100% pure French linen, a cork-backed placemat, cork-backed coasters and a cushion cover.

Size

A 165cm x 250cm tablecloth will fit between four and six people around the table. A 165cm x 300cm tablecloth will fit between six and eight people around the table. A 165cm x 380cm tablecloth will fit between eight and twelve people around the table.

Care Instructions

Wash at up to 60 degrees on a regular cycle (avoid “eco” or longer cycles). Never soak for longer than 10 minutes and avoid using Vanish and other whitening products.Tumble dry at 70 degrees for a soft effect, and 90 degrees for a more crushed finish. We don't recommend ironing the full cloth in order to keep the linen’s lovely crumpled texture intact, but we do like to iron the edges to give it a sharper edge.

About Us

Founded by the late June Summerill and Bernadette Bishop, two great friends with a truly effortless and unique sense of style, Summerill & Bishop first opened its doors on 18th May, 1994 in Holland Park, and has remained on the same quiet, leafy corner of Clarendon Cross ever since.

Fantastic home cooks and entertainers both, June and Bernadette were frustrated with the offerings at most kitchen and tableware shops at the time, and with the lack of personality and intimacy, so they decided to create one of their own, where beauty and functionality would both be key.

At Summerill & Bishop we believe that if people take the time to lay the table and present a meal beautifully, they'll enjoy it all the more and create a lasting memory for those who share it with them.

For us, laying the table is an art form that we can all master at home and is one of the simplest ways to tell someone what they mean to you. The table isn't just a place to pass food, you pass tradition, memory, and love, too. Read our full story here...
